There are some key differences between coaching and counseling. The primary goal of coaching is to focus on the accomplishment of very specific self-improvement goals. Coaches have a present and future focus and don’t delve deeply into past issues or emotional problems. My background as both a mental health therapist and an executive in a large company provides me with the unique opportunity to coach people who want to maximize their potential both in and out of the workplace. I am also certified in Intrinsic Coaching which utilizes an approach that emphasizes your inherent capabilities and strengths, creativity, and self-determination.
As a coach I provide support, clarity, accountability, and motivation. Coaching can help you to:
- Develop well-defined and strategic goals
- Understand personal strengths and skills, areas for improvement, and potential obstacles to success
- Develop a detailed action plan including outcome evaluation measures
- Maintain momentum and optimize performance
Executive coaching includes a focus on:
- Career-specific goals and direction
- Leadership development
- Increasing confidence, productivity, and work satisfaction
- Improving your communication, conflict management, and leadership skills
- Understanding how your personality influences how you work with others
- Helping you to better prioritize your work and home demands
- Learning how to better manage perfectionism tendencies
- Developing better organizational strategies, strategic vision, and delivery of results
