1. What services do you provide?
I provide in-person individual and couples counseling as well as life and executive coaching for adults. Please call or email me if you have questions about whether or not I’d be a good fit for your particular concern.
2. How can counseling help me?
Counseling is a uniquely personal experience. It tends to be the most effective when you fully engage in the therapy process and work with a therapist who you feel comfortable with and who is experienced in helping with your specific problem. Counseling can help you gain support, solve problems, consider different perspectives, and better understand who you are and how you make decisions and relate to those around you. Therapy can also assist you with developing new coping skills, changing behaviors, and improving your mood and relationships.
The amount of time that you will spend in counseling will depend upon your individual needs and goals. Some people find that only a couple of sessions provides the level of assistance they need while others want longer-term support. Most people have a session once per week although this is tailored to fit your needs.
3. Do you accept insurance?
In order to provide the care that I feel is best for my clients free of 3rd party interference, I do not accept insurance. Therefore, payment is due at each session and varies depending upon the length of time we are meeting (30 minutes, 50 minutes, or 90 minutes). However, if you have out of network benefits your insurance company might reimburse you for a percentage of the session cost. Many insurance plans now provide this option. Please ensure that you contact your insurance company directly to understand details about your benefit. If you have money in a HRA, HSA, or FSA, typically you can use those funds to pay for counseling services. Forms of payment accepted also include credit card, check, or cash.
4. What can I expect during a session?
During our first session we will spend time discussing what brought you to counseling, your personal history, and what you would like to accomplish. I will also provide you with my initial impressions and suggestions for next steps. Ongoing sessions will be tailored around the goals that you and I set together and may include homework assignments outside of therapy.
