1. What services do you provide?
I provide individual, couples, and family counseling for adults and teenagers. Please call me if you have questions about whether or not I’d be a good fit for your particular concern. In order to better serve my clients I provide evening and early morning appointments.
Long-distance therapy by phone may be an option for established clients.
I also provide presentations and workshops for schools, businesses, and community organizations. If you are interested in hosting an event please contact me. Topics I frequently discuss include stress and anxiety management (for both adults and teens) and parenting advice.
2. How can counseling help me?
Counseling is a uniquely personal experience. It tends to be the most effective when you fully participate in the therapy process and work with a therapist who you feel comfortable with and who is experienced in helping with your specific problem. Counseling can help you gain support, solve problems, and better understand who you are and how you make decisions. Therapy can also assist you with developing new coping skills, changing behaviors, and improving your mood and relationships.
The amount of time that you will spend in counseling will depend upon your individual needs and goals. Some people find that only a couple of sessions provides the level of assistance they need while others require longer-term support. Most people have a session once per week although this is tailored to fit your needs.
3. What are your fees and do you accept insurance?
The fee for a 50 minute session is $155. 90 minute sessions are $260. Payment is due at each session. I am not contracted with any insurance companies. However, if you have out of network benefits your insurance company might reimburse you for a percentage of the session cost. Many insurance plans now provide this option. Please ensure that you contact your insurance company directly to understand details about your benefit. If you have money in a HRA, HSA, or FSA, typically you can use those funds to pay for counseling services.
4. What can I expect during a session?
During our first session we will spend time discussing what brought you to counseling, your personal history, and what you would like to accomplish. I will also provide you with my initial impressions and suggestions for next steps. Ongoing sessions will be tailored around the goals that you and I set together and may include homework assignments outside of therapy.
