Therapists are far more than simple keepers of stories. Through their influence they have the power to re-write them – past, present, and future. This requires a tremendous responsibility; a therapist can do either damage or good. A good therapist does not write your story for you or edit with too heavy of a hand. Instead they will remove the barriers that prevent you from reading your story more clearly, and will provide you with the forum and tools for which to write the next chapter. No matter how many stories a therapist may have heard, yours is unique. A therapist provides guidance and support, but the story is yours to write.
